Based in Garland, Texas for over 60 years.

GMTA is a non-profit organization that provides activities for students that include festivals, performance contests, recitals, composition contests, theory tests, and senior scholarships.  For teachers, GMTA provides monthly meetings with guest speakers and/or performers to inspire and educate.  The members of GMTA are close colleagues and provide support to each other as well as work together as a team for GMTA.

Founded in 1963, Garland Music Teachers Association strives for excellence in music teaching.  GMTA currently includes teachers of piano, voice, and woodwinds, and provides many opportunities for students to grow as musicians.
GMTA is affiliated with the
  Music Teachers National Association and the Texas Music Teachers Association.
